I-85 south just past the Highway 29 exit at the main power lines Anderson County, SC. The cemetery overlooks I-85 south in a clump of trees near the main power lines crossing I-85. LATITUDE: N 34 degrees 41.191 minutes LONGITUDE: W 082 degrees 30.870 minutes CEMETERY HISTORY: ------------------------ Paul Orr and I visited Bill Black on 26 JAN 2005. Bill's grandson, Chase Black, took us to the cemetery directly behind their house on Hurricane Creek Road. The cemetery overlooks I-85 south in a clump of trees near the main power lines crossing I-85. There looks to be two rows of graves in a 50 foot by 100 foot area. Cemetery grass (Vinca or Periwinkle) covers about half an acre. There are over 21 graves, most marked by fieldstones. There are 2 readable tombstones. GUTHRIE, Benjamin (Dr), b. 6-aug-1796 d. 24-oct-1873 HAMM, R. Dr. Beniamin A. Guthrie married Rebecca Jane McMurtry (5 JAN 1818 - 3 MAR 1902). They had five known children: Mary Jane Guthrie, Louise Catherine Guthrie, Sarah E. Guthrie, William David Guthrie, and James Nelson Guthrie. There are no fieldstones but the following information has been proven by Katie Campbell."
